If there’s one thing we like about holidays, that is the freedom to do whatever we want, whenever we want it. But sometimes a great deal on a package holiday, which is good in itself, starts to take that away from us. Knowing that you have three meals waiting for you at the hotel at given times, all included in the price, is good, but it’s not always perfect. Because there will definitely be a time when you feel that you perhaps could stay wherever you want for longer, but you feel compelled to go back to the hotel to have your lunch or dinner – otherwise, you think, you’ll have thrown that money away. Strangely enough, it’s the people that have been on many of these all inclusive holidays that end up enjoying self catering holidays the most. Having the freedom to make your own hours and choose when to do something as simple and mundane as having a meal while on holiday is an underrated aspect. Unless you’re having a really relaxed kind of holiday where you’re just staying close to the hotel, perhaps sunbathing or enjoying yourself at the beach, you really don’t want to be tied down to schedules, even if that means saving a little bit of money.
